TradeStation Accounts
TAT users get a VERY aggressive commission discount plan from TradeStation.
SPX Commissions are .50 index option fee, plus .03 (.53 all in)
Equity Option commissions of 0.00, plus .04 fees (.04 all in)
$0 execution/assignment fees
You will need to sign up using the TAT offer code to get this commission plan for your account:
By default, TradeStation pays very minimal interest on the cash balance in accounts. They are willing to discuss offering higher interest on a case by case basis. If you wish to ask about higher interest, please contact Karl Kuhn KKuhn@tradestation.com and he will have a Sales Rep review your account.
Accessing Tradestation Directly
Unlike IBKR, with TAT for TradeStation, it is not necessary to be running the TradeStation desktop platform on your TAT computer. In fact, signing in to their platform will likely terminate market data streaming to TAT.
To monitor trade fills, stops, and the manually trade (if necessary), we recommend using their web based platform:
NOTES:
We strongly recommend you start with a paper money account at TradeStation for your first few days.
Paper trading is great to get familiar with the application and how it works with TradeStation, but your results many days may not be an accurate representation of live trading with TradeStation. Stop orders may not fill in paper trading.
Use of the application is subject to our terms of use, risk disclosure, and privacy policy.
Installation Part 1: Install the TradeAutomation .msix installer
Installation on a Windows 10/11 PC:
Download the TAT PC Installer .msix file from the TradeAutomationToolbox.com website.
Double click on the PCInstaller_x-x-x.msix installer file and select Install.
Installation on a Windows 2022 Server:
Download the TAT Server Installer .zip file from the TradeAutomationToolbox.com website.
Extract the Server_x.x.x.zip file into a folder.
Right click on the Install.ps1 file located in the extracted folder and click “Run with PowerShell”
TAT is not compatible with Windows Server 2019
Multi broker TAT (v 3.1.x) will upgrade and install over your current TAT install, if installed on the same computer. It might make sense to run this locally and do live trading on your VPS, etc.
It should be possible to have TAT running three times on one computer as the same users, once signed in to TradeStation, once for Tradier and once signed in for IB. The database files (templates, etc.) are stored separately.
Installation Part 2: Link your TradeStation Account
Sign in to the TAT website: https://www.tradeautomationtoolbox.com/user/default.aspx
Then connect TAT to your Tradestation account using the Link TradeStation Account button. This will redirect you to TradeStation to sign in and allow TAT trading permissions on your account.
Once this is done successfully, it will show Account Linked:
Sign in to the TAT application and select TradeStation as your broker.
Market Data Needed:

I believe these should be free for non-professional/personal accounts. If you are being charged, please contact me.
Things that are supported at TradeStation
Sim/Paper trading SPX, SPY or QQQ
Live trading SPY, QQQ, or SPX
Market Stops on a single short leg, or multiple legs
Profit Targets on any type of trade.
Calendar trades on SPX
Things not supported
You cannot have both a PT order and a Stop on multiple legs currently. If your stop is currently on vertical, then the PT order will not be placed by TAT until the stop is converted to short only.
Trading Multiple Accounts
Multiple accounts owned by the same person, will be visible to TAT by default and can be traded.
If you want to trade accounts owned by a different person (i.e. your spouse), they will need to fill out the following form to provide access and link the accounts: https://cdn.tradestation.com/uploads/third-party-trading-authorization.pdf
Known Issues
UI can be slightly unresponsive while TAT is placing/processing orders. For now, just let it do what it’s doing. TAT version 3.2 will offer improvements in UI performance.
Tradestation only allows 10 market data streams, one of which TAT is using for the underlying symbol pricing. That leaves 9 streams available for combinations of Symbol and DTE. 1 symbol, up to 9 different DTEs. 2 symbol, 4 different DTEs, 3 symbols 3 different DTEs.
