Trading longer DTEs

Modified on Fri, 21 Feb at 10:27 PM

TAT now allows for trading expirations longer than 0 DTE.

TAT now supports additional DTE trades (1 DTE, 7 DTE, etc). To trade other DTE’s you will first need to request quote data for the additional DTEs. You will need to include the DTE for any legs that will be opened. This can be configured on the Settings page under Market Data Settings.

For example, if you want to open a 2 DTE/4 DTE Double calendar, 1 DTE and 7 DTE iron condors in addition to 0 DTE trades, you would configure TAT to request 0,1,2,4,7 DTE quotes.

Please note, adding additional DTE data will increase the number of “lines” of data requested from TWS and might exceed the amount of data included by IBKR. It might be required to buy a booster package of data.

No more TAT Nightly Restarts

TAT will now stay open all week until midnight on Friday evening. For this to work well, you need to schedule TWS to “auto restart” which I recommend doing at 11:45 pm. When this happens, TAT will be disconnected. TAT will automatically reconnect to TWS at midnight and should remain connected and be ready to trade when the market opens.

Day of Week Schedules

You can also now set up scheduled entries to only trigger on selected days of the week, if appropriate. As mentioned above for 1 DTE trades you may want a 1 DTE trade scheduled to open Mon/Tue/Wed/Thur and a 3 DTE trade on Friday.

Extended Hours trading and Overnight Stops

SPX trading is possible overnight Sunday-Thursday nights at IBKR and TAT now allows you the ability to leave your stop order active overnight if you like. (Please be aware that liquidity is lower overnight and stops could experience higher than expected slippage. Using REL stops on short legs only or StopLimitOCO stop types are the only stop types supported. StopMarket orders are not supported during extended trading hours.)

You may also schedule trades to be opened or closed during extended trading hours. More information here: https://go.cboe.com/24x5
