TWS Connection Problems

If you are having trouble connecting TAT to TWS, here are some things to try:


- Restarting TWS and TAT.


- Confirm the port numbers match between TWS and TAT settings. Also ensure the IBKR TWS Host textbox in TAT settings is blank unless you needed to alter it from the default (which is very rare)


- Check the View > Data Connections menu in TWS. Be sure that it lists API Connections (listening on *:7496), which is circled in red below. (or the port number you are using) That's the best way to know for sure that TWS is running the API and available for connection.


- Run "cmd" and then 

netstat -na | find "7496"   

(Change 7496 in the command above if you are using a different port).


Prior to connecting from TAT your results should look like the following, showing that TWS is listening on the port as expected:



Then after connecting via TAT, running the same command should also show an Established connection:
